Nice shots, everyone. I don't take photos. I did have a temporary "goes around and shoots junk in an artsy manner" but I don't have those here, they're at my mum's, in the continent.

That's ok. Your artwork is so amazing, you don't need to take photographs! (That whole Atrus thing from memory - wow...)

Nice work, everybody! biggrin.gif thumbsup.gif I'm really enjoying all these pics.

Just this year I've decided to start taking more pictures and pretty much carry it with me wherever I go. Here's just a few:

I call this series "The Dark Tower". They're taken from my living room window in the early morn. With all the variety I get, it looks like this will be an ongoing series.

This next one is interesting. I saw this image about a week before this shot was taken and thought it was wonderful. I also thought it was a once in a lifetime image. It prompted me to throw my camera in my bag from then on. Lucky me, the phenomenom was repeated. It wasn't quite as vivid as the first time but beggers can't be choosers.

Although I didn't take this pictures myself (currently living in IL with my mom), this thread made me want to show you all my hometown of Missoula, Montana. biggrin.gif

Here's a couple of views from up on the mountains in the Missoula Valley.

Like the glow around the bird in the fifth one, or the entirety of the eighth one (is that water?) or the martini-glass illusion in the 13th, or managed to make the light balance work for the moon, the clouds, and the beach all at once in the 20th.

Edit: Also, the 19th looks like it was captured in the reflection on the water's surface! Very nifty.

Ah the bird one was interesting, the glow appeared after adjusting the contrast of the image. Apparently it has something to do with the light bouncing around too much in the film because the bird is a very dark object in a bright sky and the light will bleed into the other areas creating a halo which became more pronounced after pushing the image contrast.

The eighth one was really fun. It's a night shot I did ages ago but I photoshoped it and liked the new look of it better than the original. I added the bubbles and wierd colours in photoshop, and the original image you can see here with a better explaination of it.

The Martini glass was so fun, I just shot the glass while pouring water into it and then erased the glass, I then added a pouring stream of water for the stem of the glass.

The last image was composite. The clouds were taken from a daylight shot of some clouds I happened to like, the moon is taken from nasas online database, as well as the stars. The palm tree is a silhouette shape I got from another daylight shot that I filled in with black and blurred and the water is completely CGI.

Oh, I get it! You ran around with the light source, and so it showed up on the film, though you didn't since you were moving so fast and were relatively dark.

Exactly! That one was digital but that doesn't change anything as far as the photograhy goes. I think the combined exposure was around 10 minutes.
